Tamara Counselling Service đťšż
A gentle space to pause, be heard, and find your way back to yourself...
Hi, I’m Taba
I’m a mental health social worker and therapist with over 10 years of experience, offering holistic, trauma-informed therapy for anxiety, trauma, and emotional wellbeing.
My experience spans public health settings, workplace counselling services, first responders, group therapy, and lecturing.
I believe healing is about understanding yourself more deeply, at your own pace!
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies such as CBT and ACT, with space for reflection and creativity. Alongside my clinical work, I am also an artist, bringing a gentle, reflective lens to the work I do.
With a migrant background, I offer a culturally responsive and thoughtful approach, with an understanding of identity, transition, and belonging..

You might be here because…
You’ve been feeling overwhelmed, and it’s starting to feel like too much
Your mind doesn’t seem to slow down, and you find yourself overthinking everything
You feel disconnected from yourself, your emotions, or the people around you..
You’re going through a change or transition and feel unsure of what comes next
You’ve been holding things in, and don’t quite know how to put them into words
You’re used to coping on your own, but it’s starting to feel heavy

Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to carry it alone!
My Areas of Expertise
Assessment and treatment of anxiety and stress-related presentations
Trauma-informed counselling, including support for individuals experiencing complex trauma and high-stress occupational environments
Grief and loss counselling, including bereavement and adjustment to significant life transitions
Emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills development

Group therapy facilitation and delivery of structured therapeutic programs
Culturally responsive practice with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and migrants
My Areas of Focus:
Anxiety and chronic stress presentations
Trauma and unresolved emotional experiences
Emotional dysregulation and overwhelm
Grief, bereavement, and loss
Adjustment difficulties and major life transitions
Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
Identity, self-esteem, and confidence concerns
Cultural, migration-related, and systemic stressors
Psychoeducation and resilience-building support

Therapy is a journey and you don’t have to walk it alone!
I offer a space to slow down, listen inwardly, and begin to gently untangle what feels heavy or unclear. At times, this may look structured and focused; at other times, it may feel more exploratory like sketching out patterns, emotions, and narratives to better understand what’s unfolding beneath the surface...
